Hello, my name is Darya and I joined the Concept Neurological Physiotherapy team in 2022 as a physiotherapy assistant at our Burlington clinic! 

Before starting my role at the Burlington clinic, I had the opportunity to shadow and learn from the team in Oakville. It was here that I learned about neurological rehabilitation, the Bobath Concept, and the role of a physiotherapy assistant in a neuro physio setting. 

I figured out very quickly that this was a role that I was passionate about and wanted to pursue. Before my work as a physiotherapy assistant, I worked as a dental assistant for 5 years. 

After working collaboratively with the team of physiotherapists at Concept Physio and doing research on my own I have developed a better understanding of neurological conditions and how to work with this population. 

Outside of my work, I like to spend time with my family! I also enjoy being outside in nature, cooking for my friends and family, and watching sports. 

Something I find inspiring about my role as a PTA is seeing how hard individuals with neurological conditions work and the improvements they make over their rehabilitation journey. I feel very privileged to help our clients work towards their goals and help them regain function!
